Emily HIll

Emily Lamberton Hill has a diverse and extensive professional and educational background, reflecting her unique passions and interests. Her exposure to business and entrepreneurship began at a young age when she would tag along and work with her parents as they both ran their personal businesses. By nine years old, Emily started her first business (if you don’t count the door-to-door used “Highlights” magazine sales at the age of five), a neighborhood mobile car wash service that eventually had 2 employees. That innate ambition and motivation carried her through her academic and athletic careers. Emily was a top varsity athlete that set several school records while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. After attending Augsburg College her senior year of high school, she graduated at the top of her class as a National Honors Scholar. Emily then moved to Virginia to attend Old Dominion University on a full academic scholarship, where she began studying pre-law. Unfortunately, a family tragedy compelled her to return to her home state of Minnesota after completing just one semester.

From there, Emily’s life took a sharp turn. She had her first child in 2003 and moved to Dallas, Texas in 2004. The process of healing and becoming a mother ignited her passion for all things health and wellness. Her fascination with human health and performance potential propelled her on a journey that ultimately led her to obtain several licenses and certifications in holistic health, including massage therapy, nutritional consulting, yoga instruction, and personal training.

Emily has also attended hundreds of hours of specific training in: nutrition, functional biology, herbology, homeopathy, supplementation, and numerous physical/therapeutic fitness modalities. Emily held several roles in the holistic wellness field over the course of her 15-year career, ranging from independent business owner to working alongside naturopathic and chiropractic doctors in several complementary and supportive roles. She continues to work one-on-one with clients to help them reach their health potential both independently, and through AUM Integral Wellness practice in Dallas, TX.

Emily has always been driven by the desire to help create a more fair, just, happy, healthy and loving world. In addition to her work in the health and wellness space, nonprofit volunteer opportunities, including CityHouse and Journey of Hope, provided welcome ways to fulfill those desires.

Emily began her professional career in the nonprofit sector in early 2019 as a consultant and grants manager for the nonprofit Smiles for Veterans. She successfully implemented a grant program, helping them to more than double their income in grant funding alone. Emily loves to work with nonprofit organizations, helping to bring their visions to reality by creating strategic business plans, launching successful funding and programs, and sharing the wonderful work of nonprofit organizations across the world through her interview show and podcast, NonProfitess.

Emily will be graduating in August of 2021 with a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree in Organizational Leadership. She plans to obtain a Master of Arts in Nonprofit Management shortly thereafter.

When Emily is not using her talents to help nonprofit organizations thrive, grow and increase their impact, you will either find her in the gym with a barbell or enjoying life with her beloved husband and their 6 children.
