​Velyncia serves as Executive Board President for Vaulted – The Lady General Foundation where young girls from around the nation seek leadership, entrepreneurship, etiquette, conflict resolution, and first job preparedness training with esteemed instructors. In her spare time, Velyncia volunteers with local nonprofits organizations mentoring and creating programming for young women interested in leadership positions and young homeless mothers. She is a member of the Ozell Chapter 133 Order of Eastern Star where she is the Community Service and Youth Development Chair creating constructive youth programming and community service events for her home town of Oak Grove, LA. There she has helped create the flagship program, The Star Dance Clinic, a two-day intensive dance clinic taught by instructors from The Linda Lavendar School of Ballet in Monroe that teaches self awareness and confidence through teaching dance technique. To get the youth excited about school, she also initiated The Back to School Summer Cool Off by partnering with the local snow cone stand to provide free snowcones for the youth in the community.

Voyage Magazine Dallas recently featured Velyncia in their “Trailblazers” column highlighting her dedication to working with youth to teach leadership and critical thinking skills. Velyncia accredits her success to having the support of community leaders that created programs that gave her an opportunity to broaden her horizons and be exposed to things that were greater than she ever seen in her around her. In those programs she was encouraged to be fearless, confident, a trailblazer, and, most importantly, herself.

Velyncia is the owner of VC Designs, a Dallas AV production company, specializing in event lighting and audio. She is accredited for her professional work in lighting design at the world-renowned Meyerson Symphony Center located in the Dallas Arts District. She has had the pleasure of creating lighting designs for Colin Powell, Martin Short, Jennifer Nettles, Susan Graham, The Commodores, Dave Koz, Stedman Graham, and many other notable acts and prestigious City of Dallas events.

She is a proud Louisiana native with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Theater from Grambling State University along with Master of Arts in Theater from Louisiana Tech University. Velyncia loves the vibrant Dallas arts scene and embraces its culture with her husband, Schcoby and their children Jesse, Jacoby, Jaelon.
