Velyncia Caldwell, Executive Board President
“In order to have a productive community, you need productive citizens. If the community invests in the youth to create leaders and the leaders continue to create leaders, then the community is continued within those extensions and deemed a productive community.”
–Velyncia Caldwell-Mallory
Velyncia Caldwell‑Mallory serves as Executive Board President for Vaulted – The Lady General Foundation, where young women from across the nation receive leadership, entrepreneurship, etiquette, conflict‑resolution, and first‑job preparedness training from esteemed instructors. In her spare time, she volunteers with local nonprofit organizations, mentoring girls interested in leadership roles and supporting young mothers experiencing homelessness.
As Community Service and Youth Development Chair of the Ozell Chapter 133, Order of the Eastern Star, in her hometown of Oak Grove, Louisiana, Velyncia develops constructive youth programs and community‑service events. Under her leadership, the chapter launched The Star Dance Clinic—a two‑day intensive workshop taught by instructors from the Linda Lavender School of Ballet in Monroe that fosters self‑awareness and confidence through dance technique.
To get students excited about the upcoming school year, she also initiated The Back to School Summer Cool‑Off, partnering with a local snow‑cone stand to provide free treats for neighborhood youth.
Voyage Magazine Dallas recently featured Velyncia in its “Trailblazers” column, recognizing her dedication to teaching leadership and critical‑thinking skills. She credits her success to community leaders who created programs that broadened her horizons and exposed her to opportunities she had never encountered before—experiences that encouraged her to be fearless, confident, a trailblazer, and, most importantly, herself.
Beyond her nonprofit work, Velyncia is the owner of VC Designs, a Dallas‑based AV production company specializing in event lighting and audio. She’s been recognized for her professional designs at the world‑renowned Meyerson Symphony Center in the Dallas Arts District, creating lighting schemes for luminaries such as Colin Powell, Martin Short, Jennifer Nettles, Susan Graham, The Commodores, Dave Koz, Stedman Graham, and numerous City of Dallas events.
A proud Louisiana native, Velyncia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Theater from Grambling State University and a Master of Arts in Theater from Louisiana Tech University. She and her husband, Schcoby, along with their children Jesse, Jacoby, and Jaelon, embrace the vibrant Dallas arts scene and its rich cultural offerings.
